RHOP Recap: Smoke, Shade & Scandals

In this episode, we break down RHOP Season 9, Episode 17, "All Bark, No Bite." We cover all the drama, from Karen’s refusal to support Stacey at Strut for Strays to Wendy’s big moment at the White House. We dive into Ashley’s ongoing divorce struggles, Giselle’s Christmas tree planting tribute to her dad, and the messy back-and-forth between Karen and Stacey. Plus, we discuss Stacey’s unexpected wig change, Mia and Jacqueline’s shady commentary, and the explosive (and smoky) fashion show that left dogs pooping and Karen vomiting.

Of course, we also get into the jaw-dropping post-episode updates—including Karen’s DUI conviction, Ashley’s continued casual dating, and Wendy’s new teaching role. And let’s not forget the WWHL tea from Giselle and Robyn!

Join us as we sip our wine and spill all the RHOP tea—because this episode was full of receipts, shade, and scandal!

We Wine Whenever (00:00.735)
Hi, welcome to We Wine Whenever. I'm Wendy. We are talking about Real Housewives of Potomac, Season 9, Episode 17. And this is the season finale. This one, it did go by quick. I think Potomac was pretty good this season, to be quite honest with you. This one's called All Bark and No Bite, which I think is appropriate.

Kelli (00:03.211)
I'm Kelly.

Kelli (00:14.318)
Season went by quick.

Kelli (00:25.63)
Mm-hmm. Yep.

We Wine Whenever (00:28.031)
We start out with Karen getting ready for the Stacey fundraiser and Ray asks if she's gonna walk in the show and Karen says no I'm not supporting Stacey but I will support the cause.

Kelli (00:41.762)
Later in the episode, she does say, I'm supporting Stacey. Did you catch that? Much later in the episode, like when they're at the actual event. I'm like, that's not what you said when the show started, Karen.

We Wine Whenever (00:46.569)
she did? No, I did not. I did not.

We Wine Whenever (00:53.031)
Yeah, she's... No, it was not. Wendy calls up Karen to see if she would like to go to the White House with her for the filming of the Dr. Wendy show. And of course she says yes. We meet Stacey's friend AJ and they are talking about her strut for the strays and...

Kelli (01:07.566)
Yes, she does.

We Wine Whenever (01:18.321)
She's known AJ since she was a young girl in Chicago when she was a model. I did not know that.

Kelli (01:23.948)
Yeah, no, me neither. I I figured she had some kind of modeling experience because she wound up on QVC. But yeah, she, you know, she was a cutie.

We Wine Whenever (01:30.439)
Right, right.

We Wine Whenever (01:36.287)
So she says she can't wait for AJ to meet TJ. He is not too keen on that.

Kelli (01:44.086)
All it took was a 20 second FaceTime and he was like, no.

We Wine Whenever (01:44.158)
Stay s-

Yeah, no. Stacy's saying she doesn't have to have sex to be fulfilled, which, you know, not when you're paying them, you know. Then we see Ashley at home with her boys and her mom and sister show up with Uncle Lump. Her mom does look good. Her mom does. And Aunt Monica, they're celebrating Aunt Monica's birthday.

Kelli (02:00.814)
Exactly.

Kelli (02:08.6)
Her mom looks great.

We Wine Whenever (02:16.739)
And Ashley lets them know that she will be officially divorced by next week. And that it has been two years since they've been separated and she did have to wind up filing public. She didn't say if she went spicy or not, but the fact that he did what he needed to tells me that she probably did go spicy.

Kelli (02:33.442)
Yeah.

Kelli (02:41.39)
So she had to put it as a public notice for him to get him to respond. He wasn't responding prior to that.

We Wine Whenever (02:49.489)
Right. guess mediation is what they were doing. They were trying to do mediation and that wasn't working.

Kelli (02:55.318)
I mean, it's a little outrageous for him to expect for her to never mention his name on the show. She has two children with him and she's on a reality TV show. She doesn't have to say anything disparaging about him, but she has to mention his name, especially since he's been on it. It's not like we don't know who he is.

We Wine Whenever (03:07.581)
Right, right, right, right.

We Wine Whenever (03:17.727)
Ashley's family likes Josh. They think she needs to get to know herself first. And if it's meant to be, he'll still be around because, you know, she really hasn't, you know, been alone. Right, right. I did, I did.

Kelli (03:30.542)
been on her own. Did you watch Watch What Happens Live? So she basically said they're still casually dating. They're not exclusive, so that's good.

We Wine Whenever (03:38.235)
Yes. Yeah, that is good. That is good. We see Gisele and her girls are outside. They're trying to plant that Christmas tree. Boy, that was quite the adventure,

Kelli (03:49.784)
They have never planted a tree before, those three, four.

We Wine Whenever (03:53.759)
They didn't even have the right tools. Like that was not a shovel.

Kelli (03:57.452)
and then they pick up like an inch of dirt and then just plop the tree down. But I think they put a sign there, she must have landscapers, and they put like a sign there like, you know, plant this tree, basically.

We Wine Whenever (04:01.951)
Hahahaha

We Wine Whenever (04:10.003)
Well, Giselle said she'd have her people take care of this. She's like, I'll have my people take care of this. It was funny. Yeah, yeah. Wendy and her family are at the White House and Karen shows up in support.

Kelli (04:12.416)
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Kelli (04:17.134)
That was enough work for the day.

Kelli (04:24.782)
What an amazing experience for Wendy's kids, right? Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (04:28.767)
would say so, yeah. I thought so. I did not know that Corinne Jean-Pierre, the press secretary, was the first openly queer press secretary. Did you? I didn't either.

Kelli (04:41.612)
I didn't even know she was queer. I mean, that's the next thing I have written down. I had no idea.

We Wine Whenever (04:47.101)
Yeah. Me neither. And that there were 34 press secretaries before her.

Kelli (04:55.086)
Now why were there only 34 press secretaries if there were more presidents? Did the same press secretary cover multiple presidential runs? Got it.

We Wine Whenever (05:02.483)
They must have.

We Wine Whenever (05:06.353)
Yeah, they must have. And I would think certain press secretaries didn't even make it through one presidential run, right?

Kelli (05:14.734)
That's true. And who knows when they started having a press secretary? I'm sure, you know, we're not going back to George Washington, obviously.

We Wine Whenever (05:22.216)
Yeah.

Right. I don't think he was having a... I don't think there was press that... Right. Yeah.

Kelli (05:28.448)
Right. There was no press. Right. So who knows when it started.

Kelli (05:36.896)
Eddie is so proud of Wendy though.

We Wine Whenever (05:38.821)
Yes, he is so proud of Wendy and even the press secretary, she was saying that her number one champion and her mentor was her mom. And her mom wanted her to be like a doctor or a lawyer. And Wendy's like, well, I can relate to that because her mom really wanted her. Well, she got her doctorate.

Kelli (05:53.09)
Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (05:59.999)
So that was, you know, good to see that interaction. I'm glad we got to see it. Then we're seeing they're getting ready for the strut for strays and Vivian is there. And so is AJ and Stacey. Stacey's hairstyle, I guess her wig is totally different. It did throw me a little bit too. I liked it though. I did too. I did too. I agree.

Kelli (06:04.696)
Me too.

Kelli (06:19.264)
loved it. I thought she looked fantastic. I loved the color. I loved the cut. I loved it.

We Wine Whenever (06:27.719)
I did too. I know she was getting a lot of heat for it. guess people...

Kelli (06:30.894)
They were all clowning on her for it. I'm like, what are they? What, like a little orphan, Andy? I don't think so. Me too.

We Wine Whenever (06:36.271)
No, I loved it. I did too. mean, TJ specifically, didn't seem like he like who was he to make a comment about it?

Kelli (06:45.44)
I don't know, but when he said to AJ something about them being on the same team, like what was he talking about? She probably told him afterwards, like, AJ said, you know, AJ's calling us out for this not being something. And that's why he said what he said.

We Wine Whenever (07:01.933)
Right. Right.

I mean, was he implying that they were on team Stacey or that they were on team gay? Because I mean, look, I just wanted to be clear. Like what?

Kelli (07:13.664)
I think he was saying team Stacey. Clearly they are both on team gay.

But on the show, I think he was saying like, we need to basically, you know, keep up the facade. So Team Stacey. But later.

We Wine Whenever (07:30.213)
Okay. Okay.

We Wine Whenever (07:35.406)
Right.

Kelli (07:37.176)
We're going to be on a different team together.

We Wine Whenever (07:39.355)
Yes, exactly. That was funny.

Kelli (07:41.27)
You

Did you see the gold-plated chest that Jassy was wearing? Remember that was like a big thing? Remember Lori did a clip with it?

We Wine Whenever (07:53.531)
Yes, yes I did, yes.

Kelli (07:55.606)
Yeah, there were a couple of different people who wore one. I actually, believe it or not, liked it the best on Teresa Giudice. I specifically remember that. But Jassy looked nice too.

We Wine Whenever (08:05.383)
Yeah. That's a hard thing to pull off.

Kelli (08:09.902)
For sure. Yeah, because you have to, I mean, I'm sure it's not custom. It wasn't custom made for you, but that has to fit a certain way for it to look good. I mean, these women are all tiny who are wearing it, so.

We Wine Whenever (08:11.55)
Right?

We Wine Whenever (08:18.216)
Yeah.

Right, exactly. Exactly, exactly.

That is true. So Stacey pulls Karen aside to see what's going on. Because she was surprised by her text. Karen said Mia was attacking her character and she didn't feel like Stacey had her back. Stacey said Mia was calling you a drunk and had a problem in Lake Norman and I was there for you. Like I'm the one who stuck up for you in Lake Norman.

Kelli (08:52.088)
She has definitely stuck up for her a lot this season.

We Wine Whenever (08:55.079)
She absolutely has, she absolutely has. But Karen says, act like I've known your ass for a long time. I mean, what does that mean?

Kelli (09:06.49)
And exactly what does that mean? So why should she be dying on a cross for you if you don't know her that well? It has to go both ways.

We Wine Whenever (09:09.235)
Right.

We Wine Whenever (09:12.699)
Right. Right. really, exactly. And Stacey's big thing was you were attacking me as a mother. If you were going after anything else, you were attacking her as a mother. And you know, that's a totally different ball game. I'm not saying that she wasn't right. But you know, that's why Stacey had her back.

Kelli (09:26.22)
Right. Right.

Kelli (09:33.404)
Right. Right.

We Wine Whenever (09:39.015)
then Karen said, what about your, accusations? And Stacey said, well, I've never been to court and in your confessional, Karen said, Stacey went through the same stop sign three times. What does that mean?

Kelli (09:52.928)
I mean, apples and oranges, Karen. Apples and oranges. Blowing a stop sign a couple of times and driving so drunk that you crash into a tree.

We Wine Whenever (09:56.211)
Like, are you kidding me? Seriously?

We Wine Whenever (10:04.859)
Right. Absolutely. So Karen tells her that their friendship is on pause. Whatever. I'm sure she's like fine with that.

Kelli (10:06.904)
two different things.

Kelli (10:13.038)
And then she starts going in on her clothes and she brings out that like scary scarecrow thing. Like Karen's lost her mind a little bit, I think.

We Wine Whenever (10:18.899)
Yeah.

I think she has. mean, I think at that point, I think she really thought that her lawyers had it under control.

Kelli (10:31.352)
I do too.

We Wine Whenever (10:32.423)
And I think that, you know, she was just acting as business as usual, which...

Kelli (10:37.59)
Yeah, I do too. I don't think she ever thought for a second she was gonna lose this.

We Wine Whenever (10:42.939)
No. Then we see Gisele show up and she bought the dress from Vivian's shop that Stacey said no one could wear because they would look like Big Bird, which I thought was hysterical.

Kelli (10:55.362)
Well, what Stacey said was nobody's wearing that dress because I don't want anybody looking better than me. It's my event. That's why she wouldn't let Wendy get it. And then Giselle went back and get it. Could you imagine if somebody did that to Giselle at her event?

We Wine Whenever (11:01.022)
Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (11:05.576)
Yep.

We Wine Whenever (11:09.563)
I know. Well, she mentioned it on Watch What Happens Live. Did you see that? Because Andy asked her about it and she said, yeah. And he goes, well, do you still have it? She goes, no, I gave it to Wendy. Wendy really wanted the dress and she liked it. She goes, I just did it to be shady.

Kelli (11:23.862)
Right, and Robin was like, what else did you expect from Gisele? I'm not happy that Robin was on Watch What Happens Live, and I know she was on because of Traders, but don't put this woman back on our TV. Don't, please.

We Wine Whenever (11:37.523)
You really have disdain for her,

Kelli (11:39.67)
I just, she lied right to Andy's face. Like I just, you I call bullshit out and she's just walking bullshit. So don't bring her back, please. I'm afraid if Karen doesn't come back, they're gonna try to bring Robin back. And then Giselle's gonna go back to being the messy Giselle that we don't like.

We Wine Whenever (11:53.119)
Mm.

We Wine Whenever (11:58.719)
I don't know, I guess we're gonna have to wait and see what happens after the reunion. I do too, I do too. Kiana's telling Jacqueline and Mia that her and Greg need some space.

Kelli (12:01.418)
I like Gisele without Robin, personally.

Kelli (12:10.638)
Did she say she moved out of the house?

We Wine Whenever (12:13.999)
Yeah, I wasn't sure she said she moved out or she was going to move out, but she did say Yeah, yes Ash it is sad because well I don't know that he's right for her and it's better that she find out now to be honest with you then further down the road

Kelli (12:18.744)
Yeah, but either way she's leaving the house.

That's that.

We Wine Whenever (12:35.071)
Ashley shows up and she says that Stacey's wig looks like Annie. I don't think it looked like Annie. Mia thought it looked like Whitney Houston. I giving Whitney Houston. I could actually see a little Whitney Houston, which again, I didn't have a problem with.

Kelli (12:42.273)
It didn't.

Kelli (12:47.926)
Yes. Right.

We Wine Whenever (12:52.623)
then Ashley tells Giselle that Stacey told her that Karen told her not to trust Wendy and Giselle has been trying to tell Wendy this and she wouldn't believe her. Giselle's like, I've been trying to tell her this for a very long time and because it was coming from me, she wouldn't hear it. So, no, no.

Kelli (13:10.572)
which I don't blame Wendy for that. Not too long ago, Giselle and Robin were trying to put a narrative out there that Eddie was cheating on Wendy. So I don't blame Wendy at all for not believing Giselle.

We Wine Whenever (13:18.259)
Yeah. Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (13:22.697)
So they all go over to Karen to kind of bring it out there and Karen denies it, says, you know, does this sound like me? Karen says they didn't meet at all because she says that they met before filming. And then she says, well, we met at, what was it called, Hook?

Kelli (13:43.904)
I didn't write it down.

We Wine Whenever (13:44.735)
Wait, I wrote it down. Hold on.

Kelli (13:49.368)
Breakfast, please. That serves alcohol.

We Wine Whenever (13:49.407)
Yeah, yeah, yeah Well, you gotta bring your own Tally ho tally ho it's called tally ho but wait, I Don't know

Kelli (13:56.014)
okay.

Kelli (14:01.132)
Isn't there one of those in Howell?

Palio, there's some, maybe it's up north. Maybe it's up north.

We Wine Whenever (14:07.666)
Okay.

Shouldn't trust Wendy, self-absorb. So Giselle goes over and says that, know, Stacey said that Karen said that you shouldn't trust Wendy, that she's self-absorb and that me is not Potomac and stay away from her. Karen said, I did not say that. I did not say any of that. And Stacey says, yes, you did. Karen said, I never say that about Wendy. And Wendy in her confessional said, do I think Karen said that? I know that Karen said that. I was glad to hear that.

Kelli (14:36.3)
Yep. Me too. And then she said if she had my life, maybe she'd be too self-absorbed too. That was awesome.

We Wine Whenever (14:44.543)
That's her. Yeah. And then Stacy said, well, we went to your favorite mom and pop place in Potomac, Tally Ho. Karen said, yeah, that's right. This is the same place that Giselle went with Karen and the waiter knew her order. Giselle.

Kelli (14:58.434)
and made a point to come over and say she never drinks there.

We Wine Whenever (15:01.277)
Right, right. But the people at the other table were drinking. And Giselle said, believe everything Stacey sang, she talked about Wendy and Mia. Wendy said, I've been a good friend to Karen. And she has been a good friend to Karen. Stacey said, I've held on to what you have said about these ladies for months. And she has. I mean, she didn't break this out until the very end.

Kelli (15:15.83)
Absolutely.

Kelli (15:25.954)
Nope, nope.

We Wine Whenever (15:28.351)
And then she said listen, I have a room full of people. I need to get the show going

Kelli (15:33.538)
mean, Karen is stupid. Like, you said all this stuff, maybe she was drunk when she said it, but, and all this girl did was stick up for Mia one time after defending you all season, and you get so jacked up over it, now she's like, fuck it, I'll spill everything you ever said. And I don't blame her at all. But Karen, come on, man, learn how to play the game better.

We Wine Whenever (15:39.55)
Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (15:52.221)
Yep. No, I don't blame her either. I don't blame her either.

We Wine Whenever (15:59.645)
I mean, she's been playing it long enough. You think she'd know how to play it, right? Yeah. So then she's, you know, announcing all the dogs and all the models and Wendy has announced that she is adopting the dog that she is walking with. And Eddie's like, she has not ever walked the dog we already have.

Kelli (16:02.378)
I mean, she clearly doesn't.

Kelli (16:15.264)
Eddie's face was like, what?

Kelli (16:24.93)
That would be us.

Kelli (16:28.694)
my God, that's funny.

We Wine Whenever (16:30.353)
It was funny. So then at the end of the show, all the dogs and the ladies are out and all of a sudden the smoke shoots out and the dogs start freaking out and the ladies are scared and the dogs start pooping. I mean, that was insanity.

Kelli (16:44.18)
It was insanity and you know, we're not really pet people, you and I, but didn't you think that the reaction was a bit extreme? Like Karen, you have dogs talking about, I don't even know what the fuck she was talking about, adopting two dogs that are lab grown, but they're not gonna live long. I don't even know what she was talking about. But you're vomiting in a garbage can because there's dog shit on the ground.

We Wine Whenever (16:48.232)
Right.

We Wine Whenever (16:52.339)
The reaction.

We Wine Whenever (16:59.797)
yeah.

We Wine Whenever (17:03.197)
Right.

Kelli (17:12.63)
You have dogs already. wait, no, she doesn't have dogs. That's right. Well, she better really think about it because dogs are gonna shit in your house. So if you're gonna bomb it every time, you might really wanna reconsider this decision.

We Wine Whenever (17:12.691)
Right. She doesn't have dogs. She doesn't have dogs. She wants to get you dogs.

We Wine Whenever (17:21.813)
I think we really are.

Yeah, I mean, I was surprised too that she had such, I mean, it was, I don't think it was fake. Like, I think it was a real reaction.

Kelli (17:34.978)
think it was a real reaction because they were upset with the DJ that he did that pshh with the smoke, which I don't blame them. That's like startling if you don't know what's coming. And those poor dogs and they hear like their ears are so sensitive. You know, they hear so much louder than we do. They were probably so scared those little dogs. It wasn't their fault.

We Wine Whenever (17:39.292)
Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (17:49.64)
Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (17:53.405)
Yeah, that was not too good. No.

Kelli (17:57.432)
Did you hear Stacey say phalumper, the lumpretist, philanthropist, phalumropist? And Giselle goes, that's why she got fired from Fox.

We Wine Whenever (18:03.473)
A philanthropist? No, I did not hear her say that.

We Wine Whenever (18:10.751)
Ha

Kelli (18:13.807)
So funny. She's not Philumperpist. Philanthropist? Philumperpist, yeah.

We Wine Whenever (18:18.399)
gosh.

So that was pretty much it. And then we have, I have.

Kelli (18:24.642)
Yeah, it's funny because our notes went right along with each other's.

We Wine Whenever (18:29.439)
But then I have everyone's closing lines, so I'll give you those. Kierna and Greg tried moving into their new home together, but Kay moved out soon after. Kay stands by her girl, Math, and still expects a ring in early 2025.

Kelli (18:32.078)
Okay.

Kelli (18:43.726)
Well, we are in early 2025, Kay.

We Wine Whenever (18:46.287)
Yep. Ashley is still casually dating Josh, but her priorities are healing and thriving as an almost single woman and drag king.

Giselle is now officially an empty nester and loving it. She has rekindled things with, I can't pronounce his name, Nomsay. Yes, and is open to him taking a dip in her love lagoon. Okay, I didn't need to know that. Wendy has a new position teaching her class on reality TV at Wesleyan University. She's enjoying being self-absorbed, because that's...

Kelli (19:03.563)
Nomsie, yeah. That's nice.

Kelli (19:24.034)
Mm-hmm. Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (19:25.041)
in her own life. Stacey's in the final stage of her divorce with that burden almost lifted. She's looking forward to a very unstiffed 2025. I don't know what that meant.

Kelli (19:38.22)
No mention of TJ though.

We Wine Whenever (19:39.877)
No mention of TJ. Me and Gordon spent New Year's Eve together with their kids. She and Ink broke up a month prior, but as the saying goes, Ink is never gone for good.

And then five months later, we see Karen walking into the court. And then 12 hours later, the jury reached a verdict. On December 19th, 2024, Karen Huger was found guilty of a DUI and other charges, including negligent driving. After Karen's verdict was reached, police body cam footage from the night of the arrest was released to the public. Her sentencing is scheduled for February 25th.

She faces up to two years in prison.

And that's how it ended.

Kelli (20:27.672)
So we know from the coming attractions of the reunion that Ashley, I think, brings up, like you had said, that somebody else was in the car with her and they fled. So there is a possibility she wasn't driving.

We Wine Whenever (20:32.478)
Thank you.

We Wine Whenever (20:39.101)
Yes.

We Wine Whenever (20:44.444)
Yes.

Kelli (20:45.985)
So maybe...

that is what she thought she was gonna get off on, like that they couldn't prove she was driving the car. But if they can't prove she wasn't driving the car.

We Wine Whenever (20:58.867)
Well, you think she would have turned in the person that was in the car with her that ran. If there in fact somebody was in the car with her and fled the scene. That would be her out. Right?

Kelli (21:09.015)
Right.

Kelli (21:13.356)
Right, but that would also be her public downfall and humiliation.

We Wine Whenever (21:17.903)
Well, I think the body cam footage pretty much covered that. I mean, right?

Kelli (21:21.42)
Yeah

Kelli (21:25.496)
Yeah. I don't like the whole police cam, police body cam footage being, released. And I mean that on a local level too, because I've seen body cam footage of like people we know that have gotten, you know, I don't, I don't like it. I think that's a huge invasion of privacy. I listen, I get it. These people are breaking the law, but you know,

We Wine Whenever (21:33.566)
neither.

We Wine Whenever (21:43.709)
Gotten released. I don't like it either.

Kelli (21:54.594)
That it's very damaging to someone.

We Wine Whenever (21:58.323)
Yeah, no, it is. It is damaging. I agree. But it is legal because it's part of the case and it's public, you know, it's public information.

Kelli (22:01.164)
I don't think it should be legal.

Kelli (22:08.174)
Yeah.

Kelli (22:13.464)
Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (22:14.545)
I don't know. So then on Watch What Happens Live, like you said, was Giselle and Robin. Andy did confirm that Giselle gave Karen the name of Grand Dame, despite what she said at the, you know, the police. Yeah, right. Robin was not surprised by the guilty verdict or the body cam footage. She said it's kind of like, you know, when she would call me at 10 o'clock in the morning. And Andy was like, really?

Kelli (22:26.254)
Yeah.

to the cop who could care less.

We Wine Whenever (22:44.061)
And she's like, yeah. One of the questions that was asked is Robin a better business partner? Ashley. And obviously Gisele said Robin because she was there. They're still in business and Ashley and her have changed their business several times. Gisele also said that she doesn't think me and Inc. are broken up. Ashley said the same thing. It's just a publicity stunt.

Kelli (23:09.666)
Yes, she did.

We Wine Whenever (23:13.439)
Andy asked Robin who she would like to see, what Bravo, Liberty, she'd like to see on Traders, and I loved her answers, to be honest with you. She would like to see Erika Jayne. She would like to see NeNe Leakes. And she would like to see Ramona just for fun. I mean, Ramona would be hysterical and she would be killed first, for sure. For sure.

Kelli (23:22.285)
Yeah, me too.

Kelli (23:35.554)
Yeah, I don't know how the game's played, but if somebody's getting killed first and Ramona's on the show, it's gonna be Ramona.

We Wine Whenever (23:41.407)
So I just started watching this season, because I had never watched Traders before. And because there were so many housewives on it and everybody was talking about it, my mother and my sister called me. They're like, are you watching this Traders thing? I was like, they do. They started, yeah, so they started watching. said, I'll watch it. There's not been that many episodes. You should give it a shot. It's really not that bad. I wanted to see what it was all about. I didn't know what the premise was. Like, what's a traitor? What's a faithful? How does it work?

Kelli (23:45.634)
Yeah, me neither.

Kelli (23:53.143)
do they watch it? okay.

We Wine Whenever (24:10.525)
It's not that complicated. And I liked it for something different. And then we see that Giselle gave the dress to Wendy, which I already mentioned that. On other news, I was watching Extra just now, and there's a whole big thing going on with the Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. It was in court today, and...

Kelli (24:14.242)
All right, I'll give it a shot.

Kelli (24:22.316)
Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (24:38.845)
Justin's team dropped a website called the lawsuit info.com and on that website he's dropped all these exhibits and text messages and

Kelli (24:53.038)
between he and Blake Lively.

We Wine Whenever (24:55.194)
Yes. I mean.

Kelli (24:57.486)
So I'm listening to Emily and Shane Simpson part two, just started it, they were talking about how she, and this apparently is in text messages, which is why I brought it up. She wanted to change a scene. Now she never read the book.

We Wine Whenever (25:01.628)
Okay.

We Wine Whenever (25:11.891)
Mm-hmm.

We Wine Whenever (25:16.871)
Right, right, right, I told you that, yeah.

Kelli (25:18.806)
and she wanted to change a scene and he was very respectful and was like, you know, maybe we can find like a compromise or something. But, so this is what I've decided to do and then I'm gonna let you finish. I'm going to read the book and then I'm gonna watch the movie. I wanna see the differences, cause then I wanna see if, if one, I like the differences and two, if the differences are Blake Lively's choice.

We Wine Whenever (25:24.041)
Mm-hmm.

We Wine Whenever (25:34.921)
Okay. Okay.

We Wine Whenever (25:48.22)
Okay.

Kelli (25:48.846)
Because she clearly wanted to change a lot.

We Wine Whenever (25:51.741)
Yeah, but from what I can gather, Colleen Hoover was on board with all of that.

Kelli (25:57.378)
You know, she's gonna go with the big name. Don't you think? Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, I mean, she's not as big of a star as Ryan Reynolds. Her husband's a bigger star than she is, but.

We Wine Whenever (26:01.011)
Yeah, I do.

We Wine Whenever (26:09.627)
Yeah, haven't listened to the second part of Shane and Emily yet. Did they mention anything about Deadpool?

Kelli (26:22.69)
No, not yet, but I think I must have seen somewhere else that

We Wine Whenever (26:27.113)
Candice, maybe Candice Owens, even Bethany. So these Deadpool characters that he's been doing, like mocking Jason Baldoni, it's crazy. It's crazy, this stuff that he's been doing. Yes, Ryan Reynolds. I really think Ryan Reynolds is behind this. I really do. I think that...

Kelli (26:41.986)
Ryan Reynolds.

Kelli (26:48.056)
For sure, I think you're right.

We Wine Whenever (26:53.737)
Then yesterday, Heather McDonald was talking about it too. I saw it on the news. He staged like a fake, like...

Kelli (27:03.906)
Like a paparazzi thing. Like people were swarming around him to get his autograph.

We Wine Whenever (27:05.223)
A paparazzi thing, like we're-

to sign his merchandise, like with the blue Sharpie and like all this like crazy stuff that they're explaining, like, you know, they always sign in black. The reason they don't sign in colors is because for reproduction, you know, purposes. And I'm like, this is insane. Like, this is insane. And then they were in court today.

Kelli (27:11.502)
Come on.

Kelli (27:29.058)
Yeah. And what is the whole Taylor Swift thing? I don't understand how she plays a role.

We Wine Whenever (27:33.663)
So I guess in her complaint, well first of all, when they had the meeting at her apartment, remember they had to have a meeting before she went back to work, when they had the meeting at her apartment, Taylor Swift showed up. Now,

Kelli (27:44.706)
Yes.

We Wine Whenever (27:54.619)
I think Taylor Swift showed up because the meeting should have been over and she was just going there to see Blake because they're friends. But she showed up and they were in the middle of this meeting so she was stuck in this like awkward position.

Kelli (28:02.285)
Right.

We Wine Whenever (28:08.561)
And she wrote a song, I think, for the movie. Taylor Swift wrote a song for the movie. part of her complaint or in the text messages, I'm not sure exactly which, she referred to, like, Ryan and Taylor, like, as her dragon and something else, like, helping her fight the fight. Yeah, it's weird. It's very weird. It's very weird. This whole thing is very weird. And I cannot believe...

Kelli (28:31.702)
It's really weird.

We Wine Whenever (28:37.193)
that this is getting so much media attention. It's insane.

Kelli (28:43.512)
I know, and doesn't it kind of lead you to believe that it's like a distraction from something else?

We Wine Whenever (28:51.517)
Well, yeah, but what? I mean, is it a distraction because we've just had two airplanes crash? Like, is it a distraction from, you know, we have a new president? Like, what is a distraction?

Kelli (28:53.568)
I don't know.

Kelli (28:59.245)
Right.

Kelli (29:04.27)
Now I mean not only do we have airplanes crashing the drones were here first don't you think the drones have something to do with fucking with our air traffic control Where planes are crashing?

We Wine Whenever (29:08.905)
Right.

We Wine Whenever (29:12.551)
So we have the drones, right, right. We have the drones, we have the fires in California, we have two planes crashing, we have the helicopter, we have the Blake Lively thing that we're talking about nonstop on every channel.

Kelli (29:18.115)
Right.

Kelli (29:27.404)
which by the way, listen, I really hope I don't get any heat for this, but there are people in North Carolina who are still suffering from Hurricane Helene. They have not seen a dime. I don't watch the Grammys. I have zero interest in the Grammys, but I wound up on that channel last night.

We Wine Whenever (29:36.391)
Yes. Yes.

Kelli (29:53.173)
not realizing it and then Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars came on to perform and I personally really liked their new song together. So I kept it on, but they started singing California Dreaming and you know, it was very over dramatic. And then a QR code came on the screen to help the victims of the LA fires. Now I understand

We Wine Whenever (30:00.831)
Mm-hmm.

We Wine Whenever (30:14.825)
to donate.

Kelli (30:19.778)
that there were middle class and lower class people affected by this. I understand that and those people 100 % should get aid. And I'm not saying the other people shouldn't get aid as well. However, most of the people affected by those fires are the Hollywood elites who have multiple homes.

We Wine Whenever (30:38.975)
I don't know if that's true though, because there was like 30,000 homes. was the number of homes. mean, it's no other natural disaster has devastated that many homes. 30,000 homes.

Kelli (30:54.594)
Really? That's like a fact?

Kelli (31:00.696)
I just feel like it was on the Grammys because of who was affected. Let's put it that way.

We Wine Whenever (31:06.429)
Well, definitely was, I mean, listen, that's where they're, you know, that's, yes.

Kelli (31:11.128)
But what about the people in North Carolina for crying out loud? And, you know, again, I know that other people other than the Hollywood elites were affected by the fires. I'm not naive. I'm not ignorant. I just hope that everyone affected by these natural disasters, the fires and Hurricane Helene, get some help. That's all.

We Wine Whenever (31:14.343)
Yeah, I agree. I agree.

Kelli (31:35.938)
I mean, during Sandy, we were out of our house for 11 days, in other people's homes, safe and comfortable, and I was still distraught. And I didn't lose my house. I just couldn't be there because it was fucking freezing and I had no heat.

We Wine Whenever (31:35.977)
Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (31:54.121)
Right.

Right, right, exactly, exactly.

So I guess it really depends on like what, so not a lot of people died in the fires. It's that they lost their homes. Yes, absolutely. Thank God. So the natural disasters that killed people would be like the 1931 China floods. So that killed one to 3.7 million people. They don't even know how many.

Kelli (32:10.294)
Right. Thank God.

Kelli (32:32.078)
Gosh.

We Wine Whenever (32:32.743)
Yeah, yeah.

Kelli (32:36.302)
harm.

We Wine Whenever (32:37.055)
Yes, and then hurricanes in Galveston, 1900, in the 1900s, that killed 12,000 people, but it destroyed 3,600 homes. So the death toll in the fires was not as great, but the property damage. So I guess, know, obviously property is not more valuable than lives, so.

Kelli (32:58.04)
Sure.

Kelli (33:04.75)
But when it's your only asset, my home is my only, you so Yeah

We Wine Whenever (33:07.283)
Right. Right. Right. No, 100%. I totally agree with you. I mean, definitely North Carolina needs to be taken care of. So somebody should have a fundraiser for North Carolina. And I think maybe the country music people can do that. Right? Aren't the country music awards coming up soon? I don't know.

Kelli (33:16.0)
Absolutely.

Kelli (33:21.09)
Right.

Kelli (33:31.514)
I don't even want to say what I'm gonna say about that because I'm probably gonna get a lot of heat for it but the country music fans have to be pissed off that Beyonce won country music album of the year. I mean give me a fucking break Grammys. This is why I won't watch it.

We Wine Whenever (33:39.751)
I'm sure.

Kelli (33:46.55)
And Eric was like, Song of the Year was by Kendrick Lamar, basically the song calling Drake a pedophile. Like this is what we're giving as Song of the Year. Cosigning that another artist that you've awarded Grammys to is a pedophile. Like doesn't that seem a little effed up?

We Wine Whenever (34:00.019)
Yeah, great.

We Wine Whenever (34:04.393)
Well, how about the fact that Kanye, excuse me, Ye showed up at the red carpet with his wife and she took off her jacket and she had on her see-through dress. So she was there naked until they left. They left after the red carpet because he wasn't going, even though he was nominated, but he already knew he wasn't winning because they announced those awards before the ceremony.

Kelli (34:07.694)
you

Kelli (34:26.4)
Right. Somebody put the funniest meme up on Facebook. It's somebody hold like he has his arms out, but they're not holding anything. And it says Kanye's new present for his wife. I forget her name. Yeah, but he's holding nothing. The new outfit Kanye bought his wife. Did you see Will Smith's son, Jaden Smith with the castle on his head?

We Wine Whenever (34:35.871)
I forget her name too.

We Wine Whenever (34:50.087)
I did not, but I did see that Will Smith was there. I just saw it on like Extra or something.

Kelli (34:53.262)
Yeah, look that one up.

We Wine Whenever (34:56.345)
he had a castle on his head?

Kelli (34:58.508)
It's so stupid. It's so fucking stupid. Like I want to go back to when Prince and Michael Jackson, like, like, you know, come on. I can't do it anymore.

We Wine Whenever (35:01.983)
Mm.

We Wine Whenever (35:12.359)
Yeah, I know it was, know. I don't watch it either. I did not watch it. I did not watch it. I did want to see the fashion. So I was looking around because I do, you know, I like to see the fashion, but honestly, I didn't even see anything. They're like, my gosh, that's great. I didn't love anything.

Kelli (35:26.998)
I'm not a huge fan, but I thought Taylor Swift looked beautiful. She really does look beautiful in red, and I liked her dress. She's the only one I saw that really stood out. And then, you know, I saw Ye and his wife wearing nothing, and then Jaden Smith with the castle on his head, and then his sister Willow was there with a long coat and basically wearing a bra and underwear underneath it.

We Wine Whenever (35:33.164)
that red dress, yeah.

We Wine Whenever (35:42.719)
You

We Wine Whenever (35:52.365)
interesting.

Kelli (35:55.286)
Yeah, that's all I saw. Again, I have no interest. I just happen to like that Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga song that's out now. So I thought that's what they were going to sing. And they did a great job at California Dreaming. was just very over dramatic, very over dramatic.

We Wine Whenever (36:08.831)
Yeah.

We Wine Whenever (36:12.447)
All right, I guess there's nothing else. mean, we don't have Potomac next week, because of Super Bowl, and then the week after that we will have the reunion, which I am very much looking forward to. So what I think I'll do is we will drop, we have a Wendy Williams episode, we can drop that next Thursday when we would normally drop Potomac, right? And...

Kelli (36:18.87)
right, because of Super Bowl.

Kelli (36:36.962)
Yeah, it's a good idea.

We Wine Whenever (36:39.967)
I would like to also put the word out there. I'm not sure exactly when Atlanta is coming back, but I think it's coming back soon. Kelly's not really that into Atlanta, so if anyone would like to recap Atlanta with me, please reach out and we can get you on the pod and we can talk about Atlanta. And I'll get a date for you. I mean, I should have looked it up, but I'm sorry I'm slacking. It's not tomorrow.

Kelli (36:59.246)
Mm-hmm.

Kelli (37:04.203)
tomorrow.

Real quick, I just want to address something. We did our sprinkle cookie review and we posted it and somebody commented that, you know, of course we're going to say we like them because we're friends with the Gorgas. We are not friends with the Gorgas. We've met the Gorgas. We like the Gorgas. We'd love to be friends with the Gorgas. Again, I've said it before. I'd love to be invited to Christmas Eve with the Gorgas.

We Wine Whenever (37:13.374)
Yes.

We Wine Whenever (37:23.881)
Yes.

We Wine Whenever (37:27.421)
Yes, we'd like to be friends. We'd like to be friends with the Gorgas.

Kelli (37:35.8)
but we're not friends with the Gorgas. We like the Gorgas and we just call bullshit out when we say it. So we're not defending the Gorgas, we're just calling out bullshit when we say it from other cast mates. We did like the sprinkle cookies. I stand by it. They were not crumbly at all. They were very soft and that's what I like in a sprinkle cookie.

We Wine Whenever (37:48.733)
And we really did, we did like the sprinkle cookies.

We Wine Whenever (37:57.482)
That's it. All right, until next time, thank you for watching and listening to We Why Whenever. Bye.

Kelli (37:59.863)
Yep, that's all.

Kelli (38:05.794)
Bye.
